Faried Osman – “Incredible Musician”
Born in London, Faried Osman moved to Khartoum in Sudan at an early age. At the age of 6 Faried got his first guitar and consequently “smashed it” through frustration, it wasn’t until the age of 8 when he was allowed another. It was at this age that he begin experimenting with different sounds, chord progressions and what ultimately led to his unique style and sound.
Faried started his first band when he was 14 and was heavily influenced by Woodstock; covering artists such as The Who, Jimmy Hendrix, CCR and Jefferson Airplane. It was these performances and gigs that helped him self-finance his way through medical school. After graduating as a qualified doctor in his early 20’s, Faried moved back to London where he worked as a semi-pro musician and surgeon.
Faried Osman has an extremely unique and distinct sound, part of that is down to his equipment listed below:
- Martin OMC1
- PRS Angelus
- Washburn SB80 Solid Body
- Miguel Rodriguez Nylon Classical
- AER Amplifier
- 1988 PRS 10-Top with sweet scratch
- Custom built Fender Stratocaster
- Tap-able Seymour Duncan Humbuckers in the bridge & neck position
- Exclusively Mesaboogie Amps
The future looks bright for Faried Osman, constantly being asked to play with other artists and perform in a variety of venues. He plans on continuing to tour the UK as a solo artist and also with various other performers playing Latin, Jazz, Rock and Latin Fusion
